setting up sump for the first time

hi all,

i've just upgraded from a BC29 to an Oceanic 72gl reef-ready bowfront with an oceanic model 1 sump. since i've never setup a tank with an overflow/sump, is there anything i should know ahead of time? is there anything i might want to consider changing or modding before i get water in there?
