evilc66
none of them come with a "powerstrip" converter. You will need to buy a 12v power supply which you can pick up at radioshack or walmart. If you cam find them at a different site, they are all the same. Go ahead and order it. Link to comment
Waterproof
If you decide to work w/ 60mm fans, these SilenX fans are 4 dba quieter (16dba vs 20dba) and push about 50% more air (18cfm vs 12cfm). These are the cheapest SilenX fans. You can get even more quiet, but for more $. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16835191005 I'm sure the Vantec fans would be fine too. If you decide to go w/ a 50mm, I'd try these: http://www.quietpcusa.com/Delta-50x50x10mm...ctor-P56C6.aspx They only push 7.4cfm, but are rated at 18dba. If you are planning to add these 2 fans in addition to your existing fans then that should be enough flow. Whatever you get, just try to keep it under 20dba. PS - NewEgg is a good place to order from...not only for the fans, but for computer stuff too. Link to comment
Waterproof
As another alternative, if you have plenty of room behind the tank, you could use one of these to suck the air out from under the hood: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16835106083 They make other brands. I'd kill the LED if it were me. There's a post about this type of mod on a biocube somewhere....I think at NR. Link to comment
GiantBen
Has anyone tried a mod like this while using the inTank fish saver? I have a BC29 and am running at about 82 deg, and would like to lower it a little. I like teh clean look of this mod, but I have the fish saver in, so I wonder how much air flow I'll really save. Maybe I'll just upgrade my stock fans, Anyone know what the default cfm on the bc29 fans are? Link to comment
Cramsmith
So how did you guys wire the fans, did you just tap into the existing fan wiring? Link to comment

owlshead19
I did a similar mod based on this thread. I used a 12v power supply for the additional fans - here's a link http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/index.php?...t&p=3562557 Even with the smaller fans the temps went down from 85-86 with stock lights to 78-79 Link to comment

And then the polarity doesn't matter just butt connect the black wires to one side and the red wires to the other side of the 12v power supply? Link to comment
