mane3215
I have seen both and some are refered to as button polyps, but look identical to zoo's, whats the difference? Thanks. Link to comment
ELGORDOINAVW
to me the biggest dfference polpys have a stem to them not very long, versus with zoo's they almost look like little flowers glued to the rock. so zoo's short, polyps a little longer Link to comment
shadofax69
I agree thats the only difference I know of as well. I wonder, do the polyps have the same neurotoxin that the zoos have... Link to comment
BlackSumbel
Button polyps generally also have different skirts. IME anyway. Zoos have thicker skirts, almost like tentacles, where Buttons seem to have very fine, thin skirts. Link to comment
mane3215
Little off topic, but is it cool to touch and move zoos around the tank with your bare hands? Link to comment
JC VT
From what I read, you can touch, pet, and tickle zoos as long as you don't have a cut or an abrasion on your hand. Also, wash your hands with soap thoroughly afterwards. A guy on RC posted that he rinsed his hands with water after handling zoos and ate dinner right after and went to the hospital b/c of the toxin.
