Lemon juice injections for aiptasia?

I have luckily never had this pest and was curious if those who have had them have ever tried this method : http://saltaquarium.about.com/library/phot...?terms=aiptasia and http://saltaquarium.about.com/library/week...ly/aa061903.htm

It just seems like the lemon juice injections seem feasible and most people have it on hand already. I don't know, but was curious, just in case myself, and/or others, may need that information later.

Any opinions, or facts, would be most appreciated.

Adding lemon juice does nothing to help the tank except "soak up" some of the tanks buffering capacity...........Although the pH of lemon juice is low.......you'd be better off spending $7 and getting some Kalkwasser.........add that through a pipette into the aptasia........atleast your using something the tank can use.

Just my biochemical $.02 worth

If I interpreted that page correctly; lemon juice injected kills the aiptasia almost immediately, no need to worry if it is mixed strong enough (like Kalkwasser), is natural, cost pennies, and "the small amount of lemon juice being used shouldn't affect the pH of your tank water, and if you have a fair amount of current in your tank the localized increased pH should disperse rapidly and have no affect on surrounding reef life".

I have never used any of the methods suggested, because I have had no need to. Lemon juice being an acid is a very valid point on both sides of whether or not to use. Thanks for the input onthefly, anyone else?

Even a few drops of lemon juice would change your pH pretty significantly I think, I'd rather spend a few bucks on a jar of kalk that would last a long time.
