TheDogofWar
hey there I'm getting ready for my first SW tank. I have some supplies from FW adventures and was wondering what I should use. I've got an UGF but I also have (2) 201 powerheads and a 20-40 charcoal filter. It's a 20G tank and I was gonna use sea-carib substrate and some LR. Should I use the UGF? Would there be a prob if I placed the tray in just in case but wasn't using it? I read about converting my charcoal filter to a skimmer. Should I do that as well? I was planning to start with a few fish and eventually start adding some inverts after I feel I've got the hang of it. What would adequate lighting be for me? TIA oh and what about bio-wheel? I thought it was good to have but a few things I've read here seem to point the other direction. Link to comment
caja
Here's a great place to start researching the info you need to set up a SW tank. http://www.nano-reef.com/articles/ And throw out the UGF and the biowheel. You won't need either. Link to comment
fishbabies
i wouldn't recommend putting the ugf tray in....might create dead spots and trap bad things Link to comment
