psreefs
I just started using this skimmer and according to the literature, there is a break in period for it. Does anyone have an idea as to how long it will take for this thing to work to its ability? Link to comment
StevieT
1 day to 2 weeks. When I had mine it broke in pretty quick, just a few days. Link to comment
Oceanic 30g
It takes most skimmers at least a week and some up to 3 weeks to get rid of the bubbles and start producing good quality skimmate. I have heard some people with Tunzes have a break in of well under a week though. Link to comment
psreefs
Thanks. Hope it's sooner rather than later. I'm trying to softcycle this lr! Link to comment
psreefs
Well, my skimmer's ears must have been ringing because it is now producing a lot of skimmate. Now, I guess it is just a matter of how high to set the collection cup. I'm getting the weird feeling there's going to be water on my floor tomorrow morning from an overflowing cup! Link to comment
StevieT
I had mine all the way down. It controls noise and collected a nice skimmate. Link to comment
SeeDemTails
I always run my aqua c all the way down, it will get drier skimmate but I like to pull out more stuff so I run it lower. Give it some time, mine took a month. Link to comment
