armyfishnj
I have a 30 gallon tank getting ready to start up. I have a emporer 400 filter....do I really need it? Also I have heard that a refuge is actually better for nanos. Is this true and if so, what exactly is the function of the fuge???? Please help!!!! I would like to have my nano up and running in the next couple of weeks to start the process. Thanks for the info so far! Link to comment
ELGORDOINAVW
dude, ditch the emperor buy 30-45 pounds of live rock. buy a aqua clear 500 and use that as a fuge. the function of a fuge are several: 1) increases the amount of water in your system 2) provides a place for pods to breed and grow 3) able to grow macro algae which in turn reduce the amount of algae in your tank. 4) if you go with a fuge you can store your heater in there 5) you can place carbon in there 6) adds flow to your system Link to comment
armyfishnj
Now with the carbon....how do I place the carbon into the fuge? I have a 150W heater for my tank. Will the Aquaclear 500 be able to hold that size heater? Link to comment
