Help! Should I trust my old swing arm or new refractometer?

thanks to all. ...must be the pinpoint fluid I'm using (it was in a plain white box from MD). I'll look for the 35ppt solution

If your SG is slightly high look at is as a cost saving in salt ;)

I'd trust a properly calibrated refrac over a swing arm. But as filefish says - if the refrac is calibrated with RO, the swing might be more accurate. You could always try soaking it in vinegar and retesting just to check :)

If you dont get any resolution you could always split the difference and try and keep the SG there. Your corals and fish can get used to a different SG over time, its instability they dont like...
