vangvace
So I have a nice stand that's bigger than my 18g Via Aqua tank. The internal size of the stand is 17.5" x 15" x 26"H. I was thinking of shoehorning a DIY sump/fuge into there with a shelf for storage of reef stuff. Is it a good idea to leave a little space between the walls and the sump? How tall should I realistically go with the sump? I was thinking about 15". Thoughts or suggestions? Link to comment
crrichey
IMO it would be best to leave space between the sump and the stand walls. If water spills over and you are unable to clean it up it could lead to mold or warping of the stand itself. Link to comment
wow_it_esploded
Leave enough space so that you can take the sump out if you need to and enough space so that you can clean near it. Link to comment
