Phish
My tank is a 10 gallon and it has 96watts of 10k and actanic 03 lighting and I was wondering if that is enough to do a Flame Scallop in the Tank. And are there any really small clams that stay small, like a pygmi clam??? Thanks the info really helps!!!!! Link to comment

MySTiCaLAnGeL
I've heard that flame scallops can be toxic to your tank if they die? It doesn't take them a while to die if something happened to your tank, they can die overnight and you'd lose your livestock? I haven't researched this info but just passing the word around. Don't hate me if I'm wrong. Link to comment
wetworx101
flame scallops are very very hard to keep alive in captivity...and often not worth it. They do not need light. Think of them more like a snail. They move around the tank...sometimes very fast, into areas they prefer...often darker areas. Each tenticle as you see it is actually a sort of eyestalk, with a small photoreceptor at the end that helps is see. I would never keep one. I've never heard of them being toxic, but I could be wrong. Often the ones at the pet store are already dying. Link to comment
