edmund67
Question: If I put something aluminum in my tank, will it kill my corals? And, if it is not dangerous, any recomendations as to what to coat it with to help prevent corrosion? How about stainless steal or titanium? Link to comment
Crakeur
what are you thinking of putting into the tank? I'd advise against it. Not sure if it can be harmful but I would say it isn't worth the risk. Link to comment
Physh1
Titanium is really the safest to but in your tank. Some stainless steels are ok but depends on the grade. What are you attempting to do here? Cameron Link to comment
tinyreef
holmes-farley over at reefs.org has an article on aluminum in july's issue of advanced aquarist. it's a very good read (as usual). Link to comment
onthefly
Given the amount of juice we flow thru our tanks (heaters, HOB, PH's, etc)....I'd give it 4 months before the electolysis chews a hole in it. Al doesn't rust, but it will certainly corrode, and it is a very soft, volitle metal when current is around. Link to comment
