Vincerama
Here is something I think is some kind of slug thing. It is round up front, longish and has two trailing tails (sort of). I see them on my glass. I've seen them at the LFS as well, in their snail tank. They are pretty quick and I've seen them as small as a millimeter and this one was about half a centimeter! Thanks! Acoustic
This flatworm is a predator on small crustaceans such as copepods which it envelops with the expanded front of the body, as shown in the upper image above. The enveloped prey are enclosed in the "bag" and eaten by the mouth, which is located in the middle of the animal. Link to comment
caja
Yep. flatworms. I'm struggling with an outbreak in the 7.5 right now. I dosed with Flatworm Exit once and it got rid of about 1/2 of them, so I'll need to do another round. Link to comment
Vincerama
Oh great. So they are a pest then? Just when I thought something interesting was going on in the tank! V Link to comment
caja
Definately a pest...and they reproduce very quickly so I would suggest taking care of the problem early on before it gets out of control. Link to comment
Vincerama
Probably this thing... http://www.rshimek.com/odd_critters.htm#Flatworms Doesn't sound TOO bad if it eats other pest flatworms! V Link to comment
