It wasn't my idea to get this crap in, and at first it was pretty cool lookinguntil it started to choke out corals and make shrooms disappear and now it has the 2 coral tanks in the pet store i work at it's mercy.  Just about 6 hours of every week i find my pulling tufts of turtle weed out of every corner of those tanks only to be fighting a losing battle.  I was wondering if I were to run Phosphate sponge or another like product if that would get rid of this pest algea?  I need help please! =)

The tanks are 2-55 gallons and a 46 gallon.

We tried to use snails and hermits and green emerald crabs and tangs.  But the algea tastes bitter to the fish from what I've read on the net.  And the shells of all the snails and hermits are covered with about an inch of the stuff.  I'm trying to find something that eats the stuff or if a phophate remover help to remove the algea.
