What are Eclipse tanks made from?

Sugar and spice and everything nice?.... umm nope thats girls.....

 

Polychloroacetate.... or acetate to be exact.

they are crappy and scratch wicked easily.

Over time the UV will yellow them from PCs and god help you if you smoke.... the tar will sooo stain them.

Basically... DO NOT buy one. I made the mistake of getting an eclipse for it's "looks" and man was I disapointed with the tank within a month.

I just noticed on the marineland web page that they also make the "clear for life" line of acrylic tanks, i wonder if these are of the same material as the eclipse tanks(Dave?).  d*mn, I was thinking about getting a clear for life 55g down the line cuz they're really inexpensive, maybe i should stick to tenecor/seaclear

yup. suck it up and buy an OCEANIC. good for 20 + years.... you cant use a razorblade on acrylic. and PS PRAY your rock does NOT tumble and scratch the acrylic... it is murder to pollish scratches out of.
