hello, I am putting together my first SW tank. it is a 10 gal with LR/LS and a protien skimmer. I was reading about power head placement and the book I have said to have two power heads and place them so the streams will cross eachother. I have seen multiple small setups that only have one power head. is it necessary to have two?

I only have one Rio 180 with an aqua clear mini HOB in my 7g which puts out pretty good flow, but it is up to what corals you want in there. Some need alot of flow some only a little, if you don't want a cluttered tank I would just use one.

Keep them away from the sand or else you might have a mess one day. I usually tape the powerchord to the back of the tank just incase the suction cups fail on the PH.

After you get corals you will beable to tell where to point the PH and how much flow to give them.

you could also do 2 rio 90 or a pair of microjets. placing one at each corner one at the top, and on the other side place it in the middle.
