bdare Posted April 21, 2008 Share Posted April 21, 2008 The reason that phosban "screws with alk" is because as it removes phosphate from the water, your corals are able to suck up more alk / Ca. High levles Phosphate inhibits coral growth. By removing that inhibitor your corals can consume more. Link to comment

EtOH_is_good Posted May 16, 2008 Share Posted May 16, 2008 cmador - if you're dosing kalk remember to measure mg and dose mg accordingly. like i mentioned on an earlier post, damn glad that the water chemistry forum has people with some understanding. if you guys were here a couple years ago, my sps tank may have been a lot better. trying to maintain alk/calc levels in a 20 without a sump was a nightmare. i understand the pain.
