Siejuban
If I can't get Live Sand in my area, just add some regular sand, or crushed coral, will it be ok for a nano reed tank? Anyone here is from NY? Can you tell me any fish store that sell coral, LS LR..? Link to comment
Vincerama
You can just add regular Non-silica sand (ie use crushed coral, or aragonite sand is even better). Your Live Rock will seed the sand with critters and stuff. V Link to comment
fuentes925
Hi, I got a question to add about sand, what should the grain size of the sand be? Fine or course, or would it better to mix a fine sand and say some crushed coral? Fuentes925 Link to comment
Siejuban
I have the same question too. Link to comment
kimura
Well IMPO I would use a variety of grains. Some here have used plenums, then moved to large coral, to crushed coral, and finally oolitic sand to top it off. I have no plenum but use the same three variations. Whats amazing is that it will produce various levels in the bed which will serve as a home for different types of bacteria, worms, and other beneficial critters. Link to comment
