Physh1 Posted July 23, 2003 Share Posted July 23, 2003 It's not natural and the bio balls (along with other man made filter materials) will process faster than live rock will. Also live rock will offer room for nitrate eating bacteria room to live in the porous rock. Live rock rubble also already has bacteria and life in it versus the culturing bio balls need.
