archimed
I've got several LR show pieces in my tank, but the turbos all tend to stick on one. There's far more algae on the other rocks, but they're seperated by several inch gaps. The turbos don't seem to like crossing the gap to other LR. I was wondering how you guys move your turbos/astreas when they're needed for spring cleaning on another piece of LR? Thanks much! Link to comment
myelin
Pick them up, and move them to another rock. Link to comment
archimed
they clamp down on the rock they're on whenever I try to pull them gently. I don't want to rip them out of their shells. Is it alright to pull harder? Link to comment
caja
Twist them a little as you gently tug them off the rock. Link to comment
Korbin
If you tickle them under their shell a little bit they usually let go. Mine cruises all over my tank. He's on a different rock every minute. I'd say just wait or make sure they're not dying. Link to comment
archimed
well, they are quite sluggish. time to do some water tests the largest one cruises pretty quickly.. and leaves a swath of algal destruction in his wake Link to comment
archimed
okay, it let go after a good tickle! still curious about their lethargy however. will try testing for nitrates and ammonia just to be sure Link to comment
