chufa Posted July 20, 2003 Share Posted July 20, 2003 The bacteria which convert ammonia to nitrite (nitrosomonas) get established first. The slower-growing nitrobacter, which convert nitrite to nitrate, will get established afterwards. You seem to already have the cycle going, with nitrosomonas already established, and nitrobacter will now begin slowly building up. Link to comment
