swampy
I was just sitting here checking out my LR since I don't have anything else in the tank to look at (LOL!). Anyway, all of a sudden the rock looks like it is coming alive with aptasia, bristle worms, little bug shrimp looking thingies, and spidery starfish. All this is really cool, but along with it, I am noticing hair algae developing rather quickly. Nothing major, but it could be rather quickly I would imagine. My tank is nowhere near cycled (only up a week Friday), but is there anything I can do so the aptasia and algae don't get out of control prior to adding a cleaning crew once the tank has cycled? I never knew LR could be so exciting! LOL! Thanks, Chris Pondy Link to comment
onthefly
Hello McFly........."LIVE" Rock doesn't mean you have a Van Halen cover band in you tank! *Just kidding" Link to comment
fishbabies
the cycle will actually slow everything down Link to comment
fishbabies
if the algae gets too outta control prior to cycling....maybe just turn out the lights for 2-3 days....the algae die-off will feed the cycle......but for now just see what happens.....nature has a way Link to comment
