Toooloud
Found these at a local Hydroponics store.. there Called Envirolites and they are a self balast compact florecent.. they come in upto 6400k 125 watts.. Sounds like they would be great on Nanos, or refuges even some smaller main tanks.. they just screw into a standard extralrage mogel like a halide bulb... But jsut just be wired into a standard extention cord.. So what to you all think.. anyone use them? Link to comment

Graywolf57
HD was selling a 65 Watt version with 6825 lumens for comparison. They were selling them for around 30 dollars marked down about 50%. It was one of the Flourex lamps by LOA, it came in a plastic fixture and the bulb base looked about the size of a mogul base. Sorry no pictures but if they still have them at that price you may want to save some bucks if you can do with less light. BTW the entire fixture was about 12 in long by 8 in wide, it too came with an integral electronic ballast Link to comment
Vincerama
Well, if you buy PC retrofit kits from www.ahsupply.com you get PC electronic ballasts and bulbs for cheaper. The thing is that you can then CHANGE the tubes for 20 bucks (US), as opposed to needing to replace an entire $100 unit (bulb with integral ballast). Or am I missing something? V Link to comment
