jdsabin1
3 days and counting until my changeover from my 12 to the new 20 long. Here is my question: On my 20 long I am adding a CPR HOB AquaFuge (that will have a skimmer in the fuge). I had also planned to add my AquaClear 150 HOB filter that has an AquaClear Surface Skimmer attached. The HOB will be primarily used for flow and to house carbon/rowaphos/etc. Now, with that said, DO I NEED THE SURFACE SKIMMER STILL SINCE I WILL BE RUNNING A SKIMMER IN THE AQUAFUGE? My thought was yes since I still have nothing to really get the surface scum off the top but I can save some room in the tank and asthetics if I don't use the surface skimmer. Any input appreciated. Thanks. Link to comment
offsprg01
i should think so as there would be no way of gettign the scum down tou you other skimmer. Link to comment
Dustin
Well, the fuge doesnt take water from the surface does it? If not then use the HOB Link to comment
3twenty5
Surface SKimming also aids in Gas exchange which is beneficial to the tank. Link to comment
