zamboniman
I'm in the planning stages of upgrading my current 12 gallon to a larger tank like a 29 or something similar. Currently I have 2x32W PC on my 12 and am not happy with the edge lighting of the tank. It seems that I cannot get enough light to the sides of the tank. When I move to the larger tank, I'll be going Halide. I don't want the same problems that I have now and the halides seem to act as a very point source of lighting. My question is this..... what are your thoughts on using two smaller halide bulbs spaced across the tank or one larger bulb in the center? Link to comment
T?@7
Halides cover spaces like 2' wide, and I dont think the 29 is more than that. Id go for a 250 Link to comment
Wasabi
With the recent low cost ballast finds, I've been thinking about 2 70watt MH bulbs over a 16 gallon(20" long) tank. I'd put them back to back and use separate switches for a dusk/dawn effect. Would this work well with a mix of 10K and 20K bulbs or would it be better just to go with 1 10k 70watt MH and 1 actinic 32 watt PC? I realize the MH bulbs cost a lot more but would the benefit of going with dual MH, if any, be worth it? Scott Link to comment
