Robert Sabbia
Has anyone had bad experiences with this animal in their tank. Mine has consumed polyps, feather dusters and now has started to devour a new piece of candy coral. I'm finally bringing it back to the store. But this little shrimp consumed some expensive things. I just was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience. Link to comment
zizmans
huh, mine is fine. camel back=hump back?. Cleaner shrimp. Never heard of them being prob. Link to comment
Orange Crush
camels are supposedly reef safe "with caution" just for the reasons you mentioned. I never understood reef safe with caution. Either something will eat your corals or it won't. Camelbacks will. Link to comment
shadofax69
Hi, camel shrimp are not reef safe so dont try them. They look alot like pepermint shrimp that are reef safe and eat aptasia. So be careful when picking a shrimp since they are commonly confused. Link to comment
onthefly
Preimum Aquatics says they are NOT reef safe. But like you've read, everyone can have differing opinions Link to comment
NaNO ReeFiN
Yes, camel shrimps ARE NOT REEF SAFE. Peppermint shrimps are reef safe "with caution" as they normally will not eat corals, just aptasia but there are some that will stray away from this and go after yellow polyps. I've had 3 peppermints in my tank and none have ever eaten a single coral so to me, they're reef safe. Link to comment
