Mnemic
Hey guys, backstory then reccomendations Purchased a 55G setup, but I can't put the setup up yet as I'm moving soon, so I have for the time being put most of the 55 into a holding tank (rubbermaid containers) and just have the LR in tempratrue controled water with basic lighting (Hello Lights Outdoor fixture) and circulation. Now the 55G had a 1-2" sandbed, and 130lbs of Liverock. I setup a 5G tank to be a nano using the LR and Some sand from the old Setup. so I have allready cured and working LR, about 8 lbs in my 5G tank as well as 2-3" of sand from the 55G setup. Tank is getting 2x13W and will be running a 13W 50/50, and a 13W 6400K. water Readings are good so far, and I'm wondering that if in about a Week, all the readings continue to be ok, if I could add livestock to it? The Sand/Rock had some old hitch-hikers in it, so there are 2 snails in there from the getgo, and they seem to be doing very well so far. Just trying to do some planning. -Paul Link to comment
fishbabies
2 weeks from the tank inauguration is usually the general rule....just in case the change in bio-load, or absence there of causes a brief levels spike...then the rock and sand can re-adjust themselves Link to comment
