yankeereefer
the only problem with those coralife mini's is that there are no legs that come or go with them and they also tend to run hot. I have one on a 5.5g right now. Link to comment

stonedage
I used this: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod...mp;pcatid=11382 It fit perfect and made my cheato grow FAST thats the light i have on mine aswell, it does run hot but i dont think that it is raising the temps at all, atleast my heater is still turning on and off while the lights on and its in the fuge aswell. it works well and its nice having 2 bulbs. even if there were legs for it i wouldnt use any, it sits so flat and tight on the lid. Palmettopark
I currently run that light too. Its all cracked and runs way hot. It does not run on my timer either trips the timer everytime it turns on. Link to comment
i have crabs
I have been using the coralife fixture for almost four years with no problems on my AC110. Just make sure you are using the freshwater bulbs for maximum algae growth. Link to comment
schudini
I posted this on the original mod page but wanted to post here in case somebody else was searching.I made this AC 110 fuge and was looking for a bright, thin LED fixture for it. I bought this one from Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01IF03X3C) and am very happy with it. Most of the thin flat panels have touch button controls, which don't work with timers. This one has a rocker switch. My fuge has a thick plexiglas cover (instead of the factory AC 110 lid), so I pulled the legs out of the light and sat it right on top of the plexi. Very little light goes into the room, most goes down onto the chaeto. The last reason I got this was that it has a transformer at the wall, so only low voltage DC power is above my tank. I would have went with a PAR style bulb, but didn't want 120VAC above the tank (shock hazard). Link to comment
