syaeger
After I get my new lighting, I'm going to purchase some coral for my tank. I presently have the Aquar. Pharm. Master Test Kit (PH, AM, NI, NA). What additional test kits should I purchase to test param. for corals, what are the best brands, and what website has the best prices? myelin
You need a test kit for Calcium and Alk. I also prefer test kits that have tests for both free and total Ammonia. Link to comment
Physh1
Woord to koolaid. I'd go for either salifert or lamotte for the calcium and alkalinity. I use tetra kits for the others. Cameron Link to comment
EdgeKrusher
I am using Red Sea testing kits for CA and ALK, though I think I want to get the salifert. I wish LFSs would stock Salifert cuz I just want the CA and ALK, but nooooo the only ones I've run into are the red sea kits. They work, but I don't really trust them. Here's why. Yesterday morning I tested the CA in my tank and it read 500+, so I didn't dose with my two part supplememnt. This morning I tested and it read 400, now wtf is going on. I don't have corals yet, but I want this CA issue delt with before I get any so I don't loose em. The Red Sea ALK/PH test works well though. I've never heard of Lamotte, where can I find this brand?
