Is it just for resting the stock filter on or does it provide structural support? It would be nice to remove it to free up some space. Thanks much. Randy Link to comment

Do what you want to do, but my recommendation is to leave it. Once you remove the stock filter you basically take care of the brace being an issue anyway. That's my .02. Link to comment
