hey on a ac200 i have made a fuge, is a 13watt bayco fixture too strong? input greatly appreciated

More the light, The more food for your Micro Algaes.. Now just becarfull.. Becouse the more light you provide it, It will feed of the light and not the nutirents in the water.

 

But 13 watts is fine.

Too much light will not be a problem, Plants use the light energy to breakdown H2O and CO2 and recombine them into Carbohydrates and O2 as a waste product. With more light energy avail your plants will produce more food and grow faster thus it will increase thier uptake of nutrients in the tank in order to keep up with the accelerated growth rate. Primary use of light for plants is for energy to produce food and as an indicatior when to enter growth and reproductive stages. It also is used a reference for plants to determine which way is up along with gravity.
