12thMan Posted June 25, 2003 Share Posted June 25, 2003 I am a 5th grade teacher and being a teacher, I can't pass up anything free. Even if I don't really have much room or idea of what to do. Well, I just recieved a 55 gallon tank and stand. The tank has an overflow box and is drilled at the bottom of the box. I have never used a tank with this type of plumbing. My guess is that it is to connect to a sump and then pump back up to the tank. I want to set it up in my classroom, but I don't know if I have the funds to do it. I already have four other tanks in my class (10 gal nano, 10, 20, and 30 gal planted fresh) and my question is, can I start out FOWLR and eventually make the change to reef? Or should I just make this another freshwater? I might make it a local area system (perch, crawfish, bass, plants). Any suggestions? Also, it didn't come with any pumps or filters, just a 2x40 striplight. thanks! Link to comment
