Calcium, Alkalinity, Magnesium Balancing Act

Ok this is driving me nuts.

 

For some reason this week my readings are..

 

Calcium 280ppm

Alk 13.4 dkh

Mg 1250ppm

 

I'm dosing calcium and alk at the same rate. (example 40ml one solution 40ml of the other)

Using DIY 2 part.

Should I just up my calcium dosing and screw adding equal parts of both solutions?

 

Should I up the concentration of the calcium solution?

thats weird, I would up the ca and dose the same for alk. It looks like your tank is using alot more cal.

The kit is all prepackaged to include the appropriate amount....

 

I think i'm going to double check my test kits(salifert). I have two though that i've checked.

I've gone through 4 of these kits, and NOT ONCE has the calcium been balanaced with the alk for me.

 

But I am dosing them in equal parts. Maybe i'm just retarded?
