luckybaker
Does anyone have any ways of keeping sand from going into the intake of a HOB? I am leaving for a week, and I am afraid that the sand is going to jam the HOB up, consider my Damsel thinks it hilarious to throw sand at it and then watch it get sucked up. I was thinking about taking some floss and rolling it up and sticking it down in the intake, but i didn't know if the HOB would still be able to pull water through it. Lucky Link to comment
Angel
You could always place a sponge over the intake. I don't know about the floss idea. It seems like the floss would get sucked up and clog it instead of the sand. Good Luck! Angel Link to comment
Raise
What kind of HOB is it? I know with mine, I could just reduce the ntake tube length.... It slows the filter down a bit, but id rather it go slower instead of takin in sandage. Link to comment
luckybaker
its a 5-15 whisper filter i think i am just gonna take a sponge (actually some foam from a box with computer parts in it) rinse it out good, and wrap it around the intake tube and use tie wraps to secure it. Lucky Link to comment
jdsabin1
Good idea. I use foam in my dwarf seahorse tank and it works great. -Jeff Link to comment
harbingerofthefish
You could seal up the bottom of the tube and drill holes in the sides. Link to comment
