Captain_Nemo
I started a little 5 gallon the other day, and when I tested the watrer params tonight, I got something I didnt expect. My ammonia level is 3.0 My Nitrite level is 10+ and my Nitrates are already 35 ppm I have started a few tanks in my time, but never have I seen these kind of readings two days into the cycle. My liverock came from my brothers sump ( He found a good deal on LR about a month ago), my water is purified by DI, and I keep my SG at 1.025 . SHould I do a waterchange or just see what happens? I dont understand the nitrates being there already, or for that matter both ammonia and nitrites being so high at the same time. Thanx for any help guys. Johnny Link to comment
skeletor
sounds like an insta-cycle to me johnny, good for you. doing a water change sounds good, but make sure you mix your change water for at least a day, and give it plenty of air. -skeletor- Link to comment
Captain_Nemo
Thanks.... Changing water is no prob, as I have plenty of made up water.... I just didnt know if that would harm the cycle process, being that ammonia and nitrite are still in abundance. Johnny Link to comment
