peterk
Hi all, The yellow polyp in my 10g is multiplying well, they would have little ones growing from the stems and becomes a new polyp. However my mushroom has only been growing in size, how do they multiply? thanks. Link to comment
jdsabin1
Frag it and a new one (or even two) will grow in it's place. Then it's PRESTO! New shrooms! HTH! Link to comment
peterk
thanks - right on the point...! but I am just wondering how to flag a mushroom? if I flag it by digging the whole mushroom up, then am I just relocating it to somewhere else? if I flag it by splitting the mushroom in half, I am afraid this would kill it wouldn't it? thanks! jdsabin1
Mushrooms are the dandelions of the reef world. You can't kill them. Take an exacto knife and cut it close to whatever it's mounted on and the old remains will sprout a new shroom. Works like a dream! Link to comment
matteo_gugliotta
if you have some more patience you can also cut the shroom in pieces. From each piece a new shroom will born. Link to comment
peterk
Thanks - to be exact, Flag method A or Flag method B? Link to comment
peterk
cut them in pieces...? does a mushroom flag with no stem and no mouth still survive? Link to comment
SeaMountain
It's frag... It's frag... not FLAG! Link to comment
SeaMountain
I was thinking the same thing myself digi... But after the MexiJew posts I figured I didn't want to play the race card myself! Link to comment
Orange Crush
it's both...frag a & frag b. frag c as well. now that you're confused... Lop of the top, then cut that in quarters, kinda like pizza. You'll get five from the original. My handy ms-paint image: Link to comment
