caja
This is, I think, a basic sponge that started growing about a month or so ago in the 6 gallon tank. I have about 4 of them in various sizes, this one being the largest. 3 are on the GSP and the other one is in the yellow colonial polyps. My question is, is this going to harm the coral in any way. The GSP doesn't seem affected by it, but I have no idea how big this thing is going to get. Do I take them off the corals or leave them? Link to comment
caja
You can see the size fo the sponge in relation to the GSP rock. Link to comment
Littleoceans
I always found that they take over everything ...... make sure you get every piece out or it will grow back..... IMO.... Link to comment
TiGs
Those are called Q-tip sponges. I have a few of them in my tank and they dont seem to bother anything. Do search for them and you should get a bunch more info. Link to comment
Crakeur
I have found that they bloom in large numbers when a tank has been running for several months and all conditions are where they should be. Link to comment
Bucket o Chum
I think that you should leave them they only grow to about an inch and considering that you can just pull some out if the population gets too large. They also add diversity to a tank. Link to comment
