smallreef
I only noticed this a couple of days ago. It appears like there is tissue loss on the bottom of this monti I picked up around 3 weeks ago. When I first got the coral it was missing a tiny bit of tissue around the base from where the coral was put into something to hold in up in the store, now it looks like it is a little worse. Is this coral sick? I have heard that montiporas are very hardy sps corals and regrow over dead skeleton areas. I definately could have caused the tissue damage squeezing the coral into the hole in the live rock in my tank when I first put it in my tank. any opinions or suggestions? Here are two pictures from both sides Water parameters are fine...all other corals doing great (the polyps are usually all open however I took these pictures before the lights went on in the morning) Link to comment
Raise
how long ago did you add it? If it regrows the tissue it fo sho wont happen fast. Link to comment
dickwayne
I don't know much about SPS, but try looking up something called rapid tissue necrosis. I know on Reef Central they have an SPS forum, you may find good info there. Link to comment
