Float Switch

Why do you want to build a float switch? Just buy a Madison 2A554 minifloat switch from Grainger ($12) Buy a plastic nut for the switch's neck, drill a hole in the bottom of an old film canister, drill some smaller holes in the canister cap, slide the wires through as you put the switch inside the canister, tighten the nut, click the cap on and you're done. I just use a cable tie and a spare hanger that comes with the Maxijet 400+ and clip the whole deal onto the rim of the tank. Slide the cable tie and canister up/down to adjust the trigger point.
