Dying Blenny

My algae blenny which i have had happily in my 46 bow for about 4 or 5 months dissapeared about 2 or 3 days ago. my wife and i were looking for it this afternoon and about 30 minutes later it appeared at the top of the tank bobbing its head out of water, looking like nothing but bones. now i've seen it eating algae off of the walls and rocks for a while now, it never looked twice at the seaweed salad pieces i'd stick to rocks and wouldnt go for flake or pellet. so i netted the fish and put food in the net with it, it did nothing and just stayed there breathing heavily as i tried to spot feed whatever i could into its mouth. i feel so bad...
