Deimos Posted June 11, 2003 Share Posted June 11, 2003 Nah..the brown is usually diatoms...usually the first algal bloom you'll have in a long succession for about the next 6 months. (Welcome to Reefing..hope you enjoy scraping algae!!) Cyano is usually red to blue to black in colour and very slimy and filmy...you'll know it when you see it...its damn near opaque. and it grows FAST...remove it when you see it. HTH... Link to comment

seabass Posted June 11, 2003 Share Posted June 11, 2003 After your cycle is complete, your Nitrates will be fairly high. I'd bring down the Nitrate levels with a series of water changes and then add snails. Link to comment
