The reason I am posting is because in my search in these forums I realize that Metal halide HQI lamps give the best lighting and water shimmer effect. I also realize there are not many choices for small NANO TANKS as far as Metal halide setups... Here is were I need you guys help. I am planning on making a cost friendly HQI set up with reflector.. I can use HQI magnetic ballast which are alot cheaper but run hotter. Or go with the HQI electronic ballast. I was thinking of doing a hanging type fixture which can be use for different size tanks... NEED IDEAS.... I can get USHIO lamps, AROMAT ELECTRONIC BALLAST.( THESE ARE VERY GOOD). also I have access to MAGNATEK, ADVANCE BALLAST any kind even T-5 type As far as PC go I can get the sockets and ballasts but I have not been able to find the lamps at good wholesale pricing to be competetive. Please give me some ideas below see pic of custom lamps that I make with metal enclosures.... Link to comment
