Vincerama
Due to some poor planning on my part I ended up with two 1x36w Bright Kits from AHSupply (instead of the 2x36w kit) So I have two ballasts. I just made a ballast box with on/off switches and stuff, but I have two powercords running out of it. Can I just wire the on/off switches to the same powercord (ie; cord that goes to the wall?) Or is that too much load on a single cord. I don't know the max ratings of the cord or the guage of the wires in the cord. I guess the advantage of the 2 plugs is that I can put them on seperate timers and do a dawn/dusk thing with them...but my power strip is loaded down with so many things already (skimmer, pumps, hob, etc). Thanks! V Link to comment
lizbeth
Yes you can run both on one power cord but as you said if you run two you can do two timers which I like. Link to comment
harbingerofthefish
or you can get one of those short 3 prong ext. cords and plug both timers in to it. If you look around you can find ones with plugs on both sides. Link to comment
