dubious49
hi all. i've had my 10-gallon set up and cycling for about 3 weeks now. still waiting for the cycle to end. haven't added any livestock yet. since about 10 days ago i'm noticing some plant-like growth on my live rock (see photo below). can anyone identify what it is? it is good or bad? thanks! tank specs: 10-gallon glass 96w coralife fixture with 1 quad 50/50 bulb 2 micro-jet powerheads pengiun mini HOB filter 50watt heater 15 pounds of fiji LR 20 pounds of LS Link to comment
dubious49
sorry everyone...i forgot the cardinal rule of using the search feature before posting. looks like the growth is sargassum, a type of brown algae that tends to grow on LR in new setups. i will keep an eye on it Link to comment
