scubagirl
I just got a pom-pom crab from my LFS about 4 days ago, and I just noticed a big reddish-orange bulge on the underside of it. All I have in the tank with it are a cleaner shrimp, a clown goby and some soft corals. From what I have read on the web, I am pretty sure that these are eggs. Could these eggs be a result of mating while at the LFS? If they are, is it possible to raise them? Link to comment
Argent
Mine always seem to carry eggs - if you don't have any other pompom's then it could be from mating in the store or somewhere else. I've never heard of people successfully raising them - I watched mine release her eggs in to the water column one night - much to the delight of my fish and corals. I've never had any survive though. scubagirl
Ok thanks. I'm just a beginner and I don't have a quarantine tank so it would be pretty hard to raise them anyway! Link to comment
SaVeThEeELs
my emeralds spawn every 10 days or so, but i have yet to raise any-=[ im gonna try to make a brood chamber and try and raise them peppermint shrimp style..... they also spawn every 10 days or so..... its easy to sex crabs.....the females have a bigger tail, it covers the belly, where the males have just a lil tail just in the middle of the belly Link to comment
