blk_g20
i want to start a 10 gallon, just looking for some suggestions on LR and DSB. i was planning on 15lb of rock, but now sure how deep the sand should be. if i use 3-4", there's not too much room left. Link to comment
WorldNation
20lbs of live sand should be enough, thats about 1.5 inches. but the mroe the better. Link to comment
blk_g20
from what i've read, i gathered that the DSB in 3-4" range is best, but i'm interested to see what other people with 10 gallons have, since 3-4"DSB would take up lotsa space. Link to comment
Billdemart
Im confused now. I thought I read 1 pound of live sand per gallon of tank. Is it suppossed to be 2 or more? Thanks, Bill Link to comment
~_~
It doesn't matter. Just use whatever amount of sand you wan't. One of the reasons I use 3+ inches of sand is because it brings the corals on the sandbed closer up to the light. Link to comment
NaNO ReeFiN
My tank you see below has about 15lbs. of LR and a 20lb. bag of aragonite sand. Link to comment
blk_g20
thats a very nice tank. what kind of powerheads are those? rios? which one? i was planning on using two Aquaclear 201 since big al has them for $10 each. Link to comment
nut.meg
My nano is still pretty new - but I put in a 15lb bag of aragonite, so I guess that sits about 2-3" deep in the 10gal. I've got 12lbs of LR, and I'm probably getting more from a friend at work (I work at a Big Al's) who has some nice coralline encrusted stuff to spare). It looks fine so far - but we'll see how it works out with that configuration. Meg Link to comment
