scubagirl Posted August 10, 2007 Share Posted August 10, 2007 I just got a cleaner shrimp about 3 weeks ago. In the past two and a half weeks he has molted twice already. Is this normal, or is there something wrong with the tank chemicals, or is he just growing? Also, do you just leave the molted exoskeleton in the tank or should you take it out? Thanks. divecj5 Posted August 10, 2007 Share Posted August 10, 2007 The same thing happened to my two peppermint shrimp in about the same amount of time. It's been about a month now and they are doing great so I think it's normal. I took out the molt.... Link to comment
reefman225gal Posted August 10, 2007 Share Posted August 10, 2007 cleaner shrimp will molt genrally on a monthly basis. It has been recommended by some that you leave the shed, nutritous molts of shrimp in the aquarium for them or other creatures to consume. Link to comment
