Is my Astrea dead?

So my astrea hasnt moved for a day. I think i may have seen his "door" open a little but im not sure. Now my nassarius snails are all over him. Is he dead?

Not if he's eaten. I have never removed a dead snail. Just my .02

When he is dead, his door will open.

Because i took him out right now and his door is closed. So your opinion is to just leave him in there? My clean up crew is only a blue leg hermit, nassarious, and cerith snails

Since you already took him out, just put him where you can get to him easily if he is dead. If your sure he's dead, toss him for your peace of mind

id just leave it in, the hermit will most likely eat it if its dead, no use trying to guess if it is or not, mine sometimes dont move for days...

If you smell it, and it smells like death, toss it... if it smells like a fish tank, put it back in.
