Red Slime stuff on my Zoas, killing them! What the heck is it?!

There is this really nasty red slime stuff covering some of my Zoas. So they don't open, and they seem to be dead....... :'( WHAT COULD IT BE?! it has gotten to about 10 of my Zoas out of a colony of 50, I am not sure it was the same thing, but one of my baby Button Polyps shriveled up and died... How should I get rid of the dead ones? Frag them? I don't know how to frag...... Any instructions/pictures of the act of fraging polyps?

red slime = cyano

google it.

but it comes from using tap water mainly

it's gonna keep spreading!

best thing to do is do some major water changes with ro/di water

and turkey baster/skim out most of the red slime.

there's also red slime remover that u can buy in a bottle.

Start with increasing water changes and increasing water flow. Red slime remover is a chemical that works but be very careful using it. Good water quality will keep red slime from returning.
