SeaFish Posted May 27, 2003 Share Posted May 27, 2003 i am thinking about purchasing a vho kit from hellolights.com The one i am specifically interested in is this "2 Lamp, ARO Model 4L -VHO Ballast Kit". I was wondering if anyone have any inputs on this vho ballast from hellolights.com. Is it reliable? Is this lighting system good? Is it quiet? Link to comment

tinyreef Posted May 28, 2003 Share Posted May 28, 2003 i bought their electronic ballast for my 4x30W vho. it seems to be just as good as my icecap that i run for my display tank. i like the long extension for remote ballasting. made things a lot easier. it's in the office under my desk so i can't really hear it if it even makes any noise. only issue i had was cutting the reflector down for 18" bulbs but that's my butterfingers.
