swordfish
Okay, so let's say I want to break up some of my three big pieces of LR into smaller pieces so I can have more arrangement options as well as expose more surface area of the LR to the water. How long will it take for the newly exposed surfaces of the rock to become "live" and similarly benefit the water the same way the already-exposed surfaces did? Link to comment
Mnesarchus
Well I suppose you mean how long it will take before the rock on the outside will look the same as the other stuff. Not long, couple of weeks probably, a few months for corraline. Link to comment
Physh1
Yeah, it'll be a few months before it looks the same. Coraline and algae growth will take a little will to fully cover it. Live rock being pourous has bacteria within it but it's anaerobic bacteria (doesn't use o2). Cameron Link to comment
